Even though I try to dress modestly, viewing it in this light, I have realized that I could do better. How about you? The majority of women today don't even give this a thought....or perhaps they </span><i style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">do</i><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">, and choose to dress immodestly anyway. It's popular. It's what you find in clothing stores. It's so easy to buy it, and wear it...but should you? Watch this video, and then see if it makes you think differently...even just a little bit. </span><br />

Over the past few days I've completely reorganized my bead boxes (with <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Ahnnah's</span> help). I didn't plan on doing this, but you know how it goes...you move one thing and then end up moving them all! Also, we're going to be very busy the week before the conference....filling 1200+ bags with 15+ different items that will be handed out to all of the conference attendees. Wow. That's a lot of bags! We don't have a final count on the number of bags yet, or the number of things being put in them. I think that we added another item to the list this morning, though. I'm glad that it has turned out so well! Anything that helps CHEF out with paying for this conference that blesses us so much is time well spent! :)<br /></div></div><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">At the end of April, we had a lot of rain here. How much do I have to say that hasn't already been said there? Or how many readers do I have that don't see my Facebook posts? I always seem to think that everyone who reads my blog posts already know everything that is in them. Oh well....we'll see what I can come up with. :)<br /></div><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center; font-family: trebuchet ms;"><div style="text-align: left;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.knitpicks.com/kpimages/regular/50615220.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 152px; height: 110px;" src="http://www.knitpicks.com/kpimages/regular/50615220.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Currently, I'm working on knitting a chemo hat <a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.knitpicks.com/kpimages/regular/10478220.jpg"><img style="float: right; margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; cursor: pointer; width: 151px; height: 206px;" src="http://www.knitpicks.com/kpimages/regular/10478220.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>for a lady at church. I take walks with Ahnnah every day that I can. We've found that if you walk up our road and continue on to the part that's mostly unused, we pass the well and the old horse stables and end up on a gravel road...that's very squishy when it's wet. It's wet quite often, because when the well is full, the overflow runs out and down across the road. Sometimes, there's a steady stream running across the road. Eventually it ends up at a dead end where it circles around a big tree. It's perfect though, because if we walk at a good, brisk pace all the way to the end and back, it takes a full hour. :)</span><br /><br /><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; cursor: pointer; width: 464px; height: 348px; font-family: trebuchet ms;" src="https://s-hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/27208_413940871082_594996082_5553469_8054114_n.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><br /><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; cursor: pointer; width: 402px; height: 536px; font-family: trebuchet ms;" src="https://s-hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/27208_413940896082_594996082_5553473_6052501_n.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><br /><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; cursor: pointer; width: 377px; height: 282px; font-family: trebuchet ms;" src="https://s-hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/27208_413940891082_594996082_5553472_5104016_n.jpg" alt="" border="0" /><br /><br /><br /><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;">We had an ice storm hit our area about a month ago. I don't know...but there it is - my full confession. Perhaps I'll do better now. I'm granting Lizzy full permission to hold me to it as soon as she's finished throwing her little party.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">So, what have I been up to? Lots. If you take a look at </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.jewelrybyjaime4jesus.com/">my site</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">, you'll see that it's being majorly updated - lots of new stuff! Once I get all of my new things on there, I plan on making a nice banner. It's just plain wrong to have text up there when I love to make pretty graphics. I also noticed that I really need a new blog banner, too. </span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">Knitting - lots of knitting! I always knit when I listen to John MacArthur (you can download his daily radio shows at </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.gty.org/">gty.org</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">) and audio books (</span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.librivox.org/">LibriVox.org</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"> - free audio books that are in the public domain, meaning before 1924). As usual, I'm in the middle of several projects, but I like it that way. I like to do a little bit of one thing, and then change and do a little of another. Once in a while I'll have a project that I do straight through, and usually very quickly. :P Last week, I started and finished both a shawl and a cabled scarf. Right now, my main projects are a set of placemats for my grandma, a triangle lightweight shawl, and a pair of socks. I'm determined to knit a pair that are the correct size. I think I've got the right pattern this time. Pattern writers need to realize that not all women have a medium-sized foot. So many patterns are for women with medium-sized feet....that's not a 9 1/2! I guess I need to learn how to edit a pattern to make it bigger...but I think I'll learn to knit socks better first. :P</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">Reading. :) Have any of you read Mark Cahill's books? I highly recommend them. </span><span style="font-style: italic;font-family:trebuchet ms;" >One Thing You Can't Do In Heaven</span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"> and </span><span style="font-style: italic;font-family:trebuchet ms;" >One Heartbeat Away</span><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">. Check them out at </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.markcahill.org/">MarkCahill.org</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">.</span><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">I'm also reading the gospel of Matthew this month. I enjoy reading the Bible in different translations or study Bibles. We have so many good ones. The Modern King James translation by Jay P. Green is very good, and a recent addition to our library is the "restored" </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.visionforum.com/booksandmedia/productdetail.aspx?productid=61350&categoryid=216">1599 Geneva Bible</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"> that Marshall Foster gave to my Dad (he basically ran his table at the CHEF conference this year, and a few years ago, as well. He's such a nice guy, and has blessed us with wonderful products from his table). My Dad also has John MacArthur's study Bible (a father's day gift from his children) and I have </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.companionbiblecondensed.com/">E.W. Bullinger's Companion Bible</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">. Today, I read from The Message Bible...a very interesting translation. I think most are familiar with The Message by now? "The Bible in Contemporary Language". Parts of it are translated very well, I think....other parts not so much. :P One passage, in particular, made me laugh today. It's from Matthew 6: "And when you come before God, don't turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat?" Ha, ha! I can see it now...God is sitting up in the balcony with his little spy glass watching the Pharisee's on stagereciting their elaborate prayers....um, yeah.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">I also like to take walks when the weather allows. Here are some pictures from them:</span><br /><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://s117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/Scenic%20Photos/Lake%20Ski/">Exploring the Lake</a><br /><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://s117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/Scenic%20Photos/">Old gravel road with a creek</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"> (only the first 19 - the others are older)</span><br /><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=208761&id=594996082&l=44289916b3">The old horse stables</a><br /><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">Soo...the conference went well this year. I had a table for my jewelry again, and it sold pretty well. However, I managed to get a bad ear infection because of the air conditioner blowing on my all of the first day. That wasn't fun. :( Photos can be seen </span><a style="font-family: trebuchet ms;" href="http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=240157&id=594996082&l=893cd2e02e">here</a><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">. About the time that I got over that, my dog got sick. She's 16. After much worry on my part, she did recover, and is almost her normal self now. :) She doesn't jump anymore, and has some trouble with the stairs. But I can deal with that. I'm so thankful that she was spared to me, because I can't imagine doing without her.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">A question for my readers (if I still have any left): For future posts, what would you like to see most? Graphic art from me? Drawings from Ahnnah? Something else? Leave your suggestions in the comments. :)</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">I guess I'll leave off there. I have a book to pack for Paperback Swap for Mom and it's getting late. Goodnight!</span>Jaimehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04722963198849186552noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1846448937837454619.post-11098555823282657792009-11-01T21:56:00.005-06:002009-11-01T22:13:28.265-06:00Giveaway at Tinker Girl's Blog!<div align="center"><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">My dear friend Lizzy has posted a contest celebrating her 100th post...you should all go and enter it! </span></div><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"><div align="center"><br /></div></span><p align="center"><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"></span></p><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"><a href="http://tinkergirlsblog.blogspot.com/2009/11/my-hundredth-post-giveaway.html"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399353753358749058" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 319px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_t4mhr3D5A_c/Su5bobWezYI/AAAAAAAAAic/WaRzK4BuciQ/s320/Tinker_Girl%27s_Giveaway.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /></span><p></p><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">Wow...100 posts! Thank you, both! :D<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><p></p><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 194px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOL1gQxeQ_Ulfq8j1wyp29Oi_B6mNhJDHdnN1H_9uJB12v2Z_Vx7wV6G6xKQdIKypnFcMOV9MLfeM6q9uuEwXS2Mkfp1f2-69z2TmkCp2NeSRdgjUwMa-E-d6V1U14XIYX2FqD495gPbI/s1600/honest.bmp" border="0" /><br /><br /><br /><p><br />Here are the rules:1. Say thanks and link to the person who gave you the award.2. Share ten "honest" things about yourself.3. Award this to seven people whose blog design/content you admire or who have encouraged you, and inform them of their win and of the rules of this award.</p><br /><p>1. I have perfected the art of procrastination. :P</p><p>2. Currently, I'm in the middle of at least 5 knitting projects.</p><p>3. I can read 630 words per minute and I plan on getting faster after going through exercises with my mom for a month.</p><p>4. I plan to knit at least half of the gifts I'll be giving for Christmas, and wish that I could do more.</p><p>5. My walls are awesome...they're covered in Lizzy's drawings, and now my sister's, too! :D I'm working on getting them all framed.</p><p>6. If I gave you the numbers of music files, photos, fonts, and <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Photoshop</span> brushes that I have on my computer, you'd probably faint.</p><p>7. I teach more of my sister's school subjects than my mom does. I think they both prefer it that way. :P</p><p>8. I can use sign language in front of a large crowd with no problem at all, but ask me to use my voice and I'm a nervous wreck...even with a small crowd.</p><p>9. I actually enjoy it when the electricity goes out...I just wish that everyone else wouldn't complain so much and act like it's the end of the world.</p><p>10. I now have 3 different instant messenger programs on my computer. I mainly talk to 3 <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">people</span>, and each of them use a different one. I like Windows Live the best, and am glad that I can talk to Yahoo users with it. I wish that I could use it for Google Talk users too...maybe some day. :P</p><br /><p></p><br /><p>Lizzy also gave me a second award...</p><br /><p><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 185px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGPrKV6b1ADOEO5k7rH_aFAY7hLkzURf1ZZcOL7CcmL54q31tMfUo9Unf9jBdgukSuZc_1evmlxasvWzrnp7fH4XcvYxIWAW-U6bcyPE1Hs-qTew3AI09BrsvQIlWeyu0AvmvhJXfEmQ/s1600/award.jpg" border="0" /></p><br /><p>The rules are: I have to list 5 facts about her, and then 10 about me... Then award ten other people. </p>Is this payback for the previous tags I've given you, Lizzy? :P I've been sitting on #2 of the above award for a week! And now I have to come up with 10 more things?! <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Sheesh</span>!<br /><br /><p></p><br /><p>5 Facts About Lizzy:</p><br /><p>1. She has Russian <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">ancestors</span> and is proud of it...though sometimes I think she wishes she had Irish blood flowing in her veins. :P</p><p>2. She is the artist behind my wonderful new profile picture. :D</p><p>3. Her colored drawings amaze me, and I wish that she'd do more of them. (Maybe we could start a petition? :P)</p><p>4. She owns horses and is currently training one that was born on her farm not too long ago. </p><p>5. She's planning on having a Russian-themed wedding.</p><p> </p><p>Now me again....</p><p>1. I hoard candles and have more than I know what to do with. I inherited that trait from my grandma.</p><p>2. I express my feelings through poetry, but more often when I'm sad and gloomy. Therefore, a lot of it has not been read by anyone but me. I also have a lot of little pieces that have never been completed. I'm sure my stack of post-it notes with little rhymes on them has reached 100 by now. :P</p><p>3. Saltine crackers are my comfort food, but I've become so addicted to them that they're often my lunch too, and my midnight snack. I once had a whole package without salt...and still ate them anyway. :P</p><p>4. It's very hard for me to type a line without a smiley of some sort at the end....or an extended line of periods.</p><p>5. I am extremely cold-natured and wear long sleeves throughout the summer. Yes, it may be hot outside, but that just means that the AC is on inside.</p><p>6. As a result of fact #5, I have a supply of blankets in every part of the house that I frequent. Since winter is coming, I'm going to have to re-supply the living room. My mom actually <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">began</span> getting cold last year, and skinny as my sister is, she's cold too, so my blankets get used. The thin ones that have always been there have become dog blankets...I guess everyone likes my thick fleece ones.</p><p>7. In the areas of books, coffee, and chocolate, I am my mother...I can't get enough of them.</p><p>8. I have what you could call a "second breakfast" every day. After the main part I have something that I can eat as I drink my coffee (or tea...depends on the day). Multi-grain bread with honey, toast with strawberry preserves, cinnamon graham crackers, cookies, etc.</p><p>9. If I had to pick one of the cleaning jobs that I'm in charge of that I like the most, I'd actually choose cleaning the toilets because it's quick and easy. Washing dishes is much worse in my mind because you actually have to put your hands in the dirty water. That's why my younger sister gets to wash them, and I get to dry them and put them away. :P</p><p>10. After working on this for nearly two hours, I need to wrap it up because I need to have dinner ready for when my dad and brother get home at five. Mexican Pasta with Texas Toast. :D<br /></p><p>I'll tag <a href="http://areflectiononthewater.blogspot.com/"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">Firieth</span></a> and <a href="http://distantimaginations.blogspot.com/">Unveiled Hope</a>. These are all Pendragon themed. Those of you who have not seen The Burns Family's movie <em><a href="http://www.pendragonmovie.com/">Pendragon: Sword of His Father</a></em> definitely should. It was made by a Christian home-schooling family. The "Southern" Burns family is a part of our home-school group. :)</span><br /><br /></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"></span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">We went to my grandma's house yesterday to celebrate birthdays (hers, my brother's, and mine) and I helped her place an order for her copy of the DVD (why she waited until I was there rather than having me help over the phone if she needed me to is beyond me! :P) and she made us all laugh by saying "I have to pay for shipping and wait 3 to 5 days for it to get here when I live about 15 minutes from their house? Isn't there a way that I can ask them if I can just drive over there and pick it up?" LOL!</span><br /><br /></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"></span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">Also, for those of you who love movie soundtracks, <a href="http://burnsfamilystudios.com/movies/pendragon/news/2009/07/29/pendragon-soundtrack/">the Pendragon soundtrack</a> is one if the best - if not <em>the</em> best - that you can get. ;)</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:Trebuchet MS;"></span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;"></span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">Now, for the artwork...</span><br /><br /><br /></div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">First up are some drawings. These were done by my younger sister. This one was by far the best one yet. I do plan on posting about it, hopefully sometime soon. ;) That was Monday through Wednesday. We got home a few minutes before midnight...</span><br /><span style="font-family:verdana;">The Sunday before was spent preparing to leave early on Monday morning. It was really late when I got to bed on Sunday since I had so much to do...I got a call on Saturday afternoon asking if I'd like to have a table in the vendor hall to sell my jewelry - free of charge! Thursday was spent cleaning up the mess that I left from preparing, and from Friday until now I've been sick. And this time I can't blame it on Danny...:P During periods when I wasn't too ill to think clearly I was corresponding with a few people who ordered custom items at the conference. :)</span><br /><span style="font-family:verdana;">So, there you have it...a short update. :)</span><br /><span style="font-family:Verdana;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:Verdana;">Also, I'd like to ask you all to pray for Lizzy, who is not feeling well right now. Think of 15 albums that had such a profound effect on you that they changed your life or the way you looked at it. They sucked you in and took you over for days, weeks, months, years. These are the albums that you can use to identify time, places, people, emotions. These are the albums that no matter what they were thought of musically shaped your world. When you finish, tag 5 others.</span><br /><br /><br />At first, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to come up with very many, but after starting, it ended up being pretty easy for me. :P I've grouped some, mainly multiples from the same artist. Some I just couldn't pick one from. :P I must say, I worked pretty hard on this. I have thing for providing links to everything...I love Wikipedia. :P<br />And I apologize for the bad formatting of this post...I'm about fed up with the pictures not going where they're supposed to and the extra spaces popping up after I save...:P<br /><br /><br />In no particular order)...<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/da/No_Name_Face.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/da/No_Name_Face.jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifehouse_(band)">Lifehouse</a>'s <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Name_Face">No Name Face</a></em> and <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley_Climbfall">Stanley Climbfall</a>.</em> Definitely two of my all-time favorites. When I got <em>No Name Face</em>, my stereo had just died. :P So I was stuck with my little boom box. I think the only time that the album left it was when it was transferred into my portable CD player when we would leave the house. <a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/85/Stanley_Climbfall.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/85/Stanley_Climbfall.jpg" border="0" /></a>When we got back, it went right back into the boom box. :P Stanley Climbfall was one of the few albums that I pre-ordered on the Internet. It took nearly a week to arrive after it's release date...the wait was horrible! :P<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f9/Awakejoshgroban.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 120px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 120px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f9/Awakejoshgroban.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_Groban">Josh Groban</a>'s <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Awake_(Josh_Groban_album)">Awake</a></em>. A more recent one. I've pretty much worn out all of his albums after getting them, but this one more so than the others, I think. My grandma has fallen in love with him. After watching his <em>Awake Live</em> DVD, she informed me that she had filed adoption papers on him and was waiting to hear back! :P Notice that all of his studio albums have gone platinum. Are we surprised? :P<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/29/Sound_of_Melodies.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 120px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 120px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/29/Sound_of_Melodies.jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leeland">Leeland</a>'s <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_of_Melodies">The Sound of Melodies</a></em>. This was truly a great album. Leeland is such a great songwriter, and this album was recorded while he was only 17! Wow. Makes you think about what you've done with your own life, doesn't it? How many people can say at 20 years old that their recording their third album and have written songs with Michael W. I would often listen to a single album all through school in the mornings, and after I got my computer and had them all on it, I listened to them all the way through. :) These were the ones that began my obsession with movie soundtracks. I now have an extensive collection on my computer, and I love to listen to them all on shuffle. It's really fun...you'll hear a song from LotR, then from PotC, Narnia, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, then back to Narnia...and so on. :P<br /><br /><br /><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/82/Praycover.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/82/Praycover.jpg" border="0" /></a><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/59/Speechless.scc.jpg" border="0" /><br /><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Curtis_Chapman">Steven Curtis Chapman</a>'s <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speechless_(Steven_Curtis_Chapman_album)"><em>Speechless</em></a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebecca_St_James">Rebecca St. James</a>'s <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pray_(Rebecca_St._James_album)">Pray</a></em>. I got both of these albums at about the same time. My mom is still tired of hearing any songs from either of these albums, and I think she's even tired of the artists themselves. :P Though I don't follow them nearly so much as I used to, they were my original two favorites.<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/73/Crashings.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/73/Crashings.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d4/Dawnescapes.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d4/Dawnescapes.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falling_Up_(band)">Falling Up</a>'s <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crashings">Crashings</a></em>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dawn_Escapes"><em>Dawn Escapes</em></a>, and <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captiva_(album)">Captiva</a></em>. I love the music that this band makes. It's very unique. And...you can spend hours trying to <a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/09/Captiva.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/09/Captiva.jpg" border="0" /></a>figure out how in the world they come up with the song titles that they do. :P Also, who can't love a band who's lead singer thanks Legolas in his first album? :P I'll never forget the interview that I saw on TV of the band. As they were introducing themselves and what they do..."I'm Jeremy, and I play the bass." "I'm Josh, and I play the drums." "I'm Jessy, and I play the singer."<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/74/ThirdDayOfferings2.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/74/ThirdDayOfferings2.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/38/ThirdDayOfferings.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/38/ThirdDayOfferings.jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_Day">Third Day</a>'s <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offerings:_A_Worship_Album">Offerings</a></em>, <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offerings_II:_All_I_Have_to_Give">Offerings II: All I Have To Give</a></em>, and <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Come_Together_(album)">Come </a><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Come_Together_(album)">Together</a></em>. I've picked out these three of theirs because I remember them being in the living room's six-disc player a lot, along with the Michael W. Smith and <a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/58/ThirdDayComeTogether.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/58/ThirdDayComeTogether.jpg" border="0" /></a>All Together Separate albums that are coming up next. :) I think, out of these, I enjoyed <em>Come Together</em> the most. Most of the songs are still in my favorites list. :) I love everything that Third Day does, as does my grandma (the same one that's filed adoption papers for Josh Groban :P). They're her favorite. For the longest time, I couldn't get her to listen to anything but Third Day! :P<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/26/Thisisyourtime.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/26/Thisisyourtime.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7d/Worship_Again.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7d/Worship_Again.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_W_Smith">Michael W. The first two were albums that were in the six-disc player, and Freedom is a wonderful instrumental album. I<a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f4/Freedom_%28cover%29_-_Michael_Smith.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f4/Freedom_%28cover%29_-_Michael_Smith.jpg" border="0" /></a> would listen to this one during school a lot. Recorded in Dublin, it has an Irish sound to it. :) Very, very good. I would love for him to record another instrumental album. Smitty writes wonderful lyrics and music, and he's been at it for more than two and a half decades. That's longer than I've been alive! :P<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://lyrics.christiansunite.com/images/albums/album_1103.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 100px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 100px" alt="" src="http://lyrics.christiansunite.com/images/albums/album_1103.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Together_Separate">All Together Separate</a>'s <em>Ardent Worship Live</em>. This is a live worship album that the band recorded. It's much different than their studio albums. This album has some great praise and worship songs on it. I fell in love with "Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble" after hearing it on here for the first time. It's a rather long song, though. The lead singer says "One more time" for the chorus about three times, I think. :P And he has the audience go through it by themselves once by saying "You sing, I'm gonna dance. Go!" :P<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d0/SayItLoud.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 120px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 120px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d0/SayItLoud.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanctus_Real">Sanctus Real</a>'s <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Say_it_Loud">Say It Loud</a></em>. This is another one that everyone but me was sick of. :P This was the band's first major album. I heard the first single, the title track, on the radio when it was first released, and I saw the music video for it, too...a very neat one. :) When trying to find the album to buy it...it was very difficult...I searched in several stores before finding a copy. Most places were sold out. Interesting cover photo, isn't it? :P<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 120px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 120px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/1d/Narniatltwatwinspired.jpg" border="0" /> <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_Inspired_by_the_Chronicles_of_Narnia:_The_Lion,_the_Witch,_and_the_Wardrobe">Music Inspired By The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the </a><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_Inspired_by_the_Chronicles_of_Narnia:_The_Lion,_the_Witch,_and_the_Wardrobe">Wardrobe</a></em>. A <strong>great</strong> CD. My siblings and I all love this one, and were constantly borrowing it from one another. :P I remember playing pool with my brother while listening to it. We also listened to it while working on a wardrobe mural for school with drawings from the story in the doors of it...it's really neat. Again, I still have songs from this album in my favorites list. I especially love the songs that Jars of Clay, Chris Tomlin, and Kutless recorded on it.<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/29/DcTalkWelcometotheFreakShow.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 110px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 110px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/29/DcTalkWelcometotheFreakShow.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dc_Talk">DC Talk</a>'s <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welcome_to_the_Freak_Show">Welcome To The Freak Show</a></em>. I bought this album while I was in Branson. I remember spending hours listening to it over and over, pretending that I was a part of the live show, singing and playing the drums. :P Yes, I was quite young. LOL.<em> </em><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c2/Teh.jpg" border="0" /><br /><br /><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/cf/Joc3.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/cf/Joc3.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jars_of_Clay">Jars of Clay</a>'s <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/If_I_Left_The_Zoo">If I Left The Zoo</a></em> and <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eleventh_Hour_(album)">The Eleventh Hour</a></em>. I love Jars of Clay, but especially these two albums. <em>The Eleventh Hour</em> is one of my favorites, their best so far, in my opinion. :) Their use of 'big words' fascinated me, I think. :P I haven't heard a Jars song yet that I haven't liked. They're all great. :)<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/01/JC-CarriedMe.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/01/JC-CarriedMe.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5e/JC-Stay.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 75px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 75px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5e/JC-Stay.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Camp">Jeremy Camp</a>'s <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stay_(Jeremy_Camp_album)">Stay</a></em> and <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carried_Me">Carried Me</a></em>. I remember when Understand debuted on RadioU and TVU. I loved it and immediately bought the album when it came out. Carried Me is probably my favorite of his, though. :) Though, <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyond_Measure">Beyond Measure</a></em> has my favorite songs on it...go figure. :P<br /><br /><br /><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/15/Oxygen.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 110px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 100px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/15/Oxygen.jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avalon_(band)">Avalon</a>'s <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_(Avalon_album)">Oxygen</a></em>. I bought this one because I was asked to sign the last song on the album (using sign language) in church. I really liked the whole thing, as did my Mom...so it was played a lot. In the living room player, in the car...everywhere. :P<br /><br /><br /><br />(EDIT: One disappeared! I had this one further up in the list, but now it's not there. I have no idea what happened to it! :P)<br /><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bd/Building_429_-_space.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 110px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 110px" alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bd/Building_429_-_space.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Building429">Building429</a>'s <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_in_Between_Us">Space In Between Us</a></em>. An awesome album! I remember listening to this album while playing badminton outside. My sister and I would take my boom box outside and plug it in to a huge extension cord and have it sitting on a chair in the middle of the yard...yes, we're weird! :P<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />~*~<br /><br />Ok, so I'm tagging:<br /><br /><a href="http://tinkergirlsblog.blogspot.com/">Lizzy</a><br /><a href="http://proverbs31maiden.blogspot.com/index.html">Elissa</a><br /><a href="http://erin-artisticexpressions.blogspot.com/">Erin</a><br /><a href="http://elisabeth-dixiedoodles.blogspot.com/">Elisabeth</a><br />...and anyone else who stumbles upon this and would like to take the challenge. ;)<br /><br /><br />Oh, and for those of you who have been wondering why I've nearly disappeared from the blogging world...my computer has decided to give out on me. :( If I try to do anything that takes much memory, or try to do more than one thing at a time it shuts off. So the majority of my computer time is spent trying to solve this problem and doing the things that have to be done online, and other things when I can fit them in...periodically taking breaks to go and bang my head on the wall. :P<br />Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon...Jaimehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04722963198849186552noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1846448937837454619.post-26697007924993205382009-03-26T15:13:00.006-05:002009-03-30T00:19:08.069-05:00Spring Is In The Air<div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;"></span> </div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">When we get rainbows, we get <em>rainbows</em>.</span></div><div align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;"></span> </div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"><a href="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/Scenic%20Photos/double-rainbow_032409.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/Scenic%20Photos/double-rainbow_032409.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><br /><p align="center"><em><span style="font-size:85%;">A double rainbow from Tuesday over our yard.</span></em></p><p align="center">~*~*~*~*~</p><p align="center"><span style="font-size:130%;">Yes, it's spring...</span></p><p><a href="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/Scenic%20Photos/white-tree-4.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 360px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/Scenic%20Photos/white-tree-4.jpg" border="0" /></a></p><p align="center"><em><span style="font-size:85%;">A tree from across the street. The food is great, and you can have a lot of it! All you've got to do is make sure that it's not over a certain percentage of fat. If you're on a mission to lose weight, you want 20% fat or less. If you're healthy, it's best to stay below 30%. How do you tell the fat percentage? Easy. Multiply the grams of fat by 9, and then divide that number by the calories. There's your number. :) Now, if you start doing the math on the food you eat on a regular basis, you might be surprised - I was. And I thought that I had a fairly healthy diet. But it's not that hard to change, and add some better choices to your menu. Even if you're not overweight, I think we can all agree that eating healthy is still a good idea, right? :) If you <em>still</em> disagree...then maybe you'll change your mind when you see some of the delicious recipes that we've tried - and loved! That's where my "New Blog Idea" comes in. I thought that others might benefit if I were to share our recipes and ideas. So, I'd like some opinions. :) Are you interested? Would you use these recipes? They're mostly very easy, and the ingredients aren't difficult too find. Basically, I'd like to know if putting the time and effort into a blog would be helpful to anyone. Please leave your comments on this. :)</div><div align="center"> </div>Jaimehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04722963198849186552noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1846448937837454619.post-45060053302080090602009-01-20T23:24:00.007-06:002009-01-27T23:28:51.646-06:00St. Louis Blues Wallpapers<div align="center"><br />I might as well just accept the fact that most of my posts are going to be "much-needed updates"...:P<br /><br />Currently, I am knee-deep in knitting and wallpaper-making. Some of the Christmas gifts I gave were for knitted items and discs of computer wallpapers and screen saver slide shows. Now I am feeling the affects of those. :P<br /><br />I've already finished four scarves and two hats. I have one hat to go and a pair of socks...if I can figure out how to use the pattern I have for thinner yarn. I have a Sidney Penguin, a Geno Penguin, and a Marc-Andre Penguin (so far! :D).<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270848375297981906" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 262px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgR_DKom8cVjixbNtrSd6vIrFn2_MlOR0lWw9SdEIjnsDGJ1I0DuFpW_x5jCdYc72S2GZ_hk2uyeym4M4fcNLPHW8dTpVxAM1AA_XR8-a9cCXLFxUsJe-D0mtS-TWj8_wR0VAvTxoyXIJs/s400/penguins-bunny.jpg" border="0" /></div><div align="center"><em><span style="font-size:85%;">My dog, Bunny, with Sidney, Geno, and Marc-Andre Penguin. Now, i must take a minute to brag on my friend. ;) I showed her an icon I made using a picture that I found and mentioned that I would love to have a drawing made from it, but I would need to find a bigger version of it as this one was on 250 pixels. She said that if I found one she would try to do it for me, so I went to Google Images and started hunting. We were talking on Windows <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">IM</span> while I was looking, and I was sharing my results...some were quite interesting, and I found several good pictures (I probably added at least 50 new pictures to my rather large gallery :P)...but not the one I was looking for. About 50 pages into my search, Lizzy informed me that she found my picture. Quite amazed, I asked if she could send me the link. She said no, and sent me a file on <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">IM</span>. I was completely speechless - It was a drawing! One of our local radio stations has already switched over to playing Christmas music, and another one will tomorrow. I've also started some of my shopping. :D This year, I'll be knitting as many gifts as I can. I have the yarn for three scarves...I have no idea who I'll be giving one of them to. :P And the other two I'm making using Lion Suede. I really love how the first one's turning out. I'm going to have to get me some later to make one out of. :D I'd also love to be able to figure out how to make socks before it's too late...and my Mom has requested leg warmers. The pattern I have for those has some unfamiliar stitches in it too. :P This past weekend, I invested in the <em>Knitting For Dummies</em> book, so I'm hoping that it can help me. :P<br /></div><br /><div align="center">I still have yet to decorate my room. I hope to have it done by Thanksgiving. :) My sister won't let it <em>not</em> be. :P We have twice as much this year than we did last year...it <em>should</em> be fun. We even have lights to put up this year. :) </div><br /><div align="center">Also on the subject of Christmas...I'll be playing the part of a cow in a Christmas play at church. Yes, a cow. :P My mom volunteered me. Excepting the narrator, the cow is the largest part. I guess that's why she wanted me to do it...</div><div align="center">My sister is drawing the animals that we'll use for the play, and I'm colouring them. You'd be surprised how hard it is to colour a sheep. :P</div><br /><div align="center"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9">Ok</span>, I think I'm done. :P Is this the longest post I've ever made? A hockey game. :D</div><br /><div>From a previous post, you now know that I'm a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, and they're coming to play our home team this year! *happy dance* It's this Saturday. It seems like it was just yesterday that my brother and I were counting down the <em>months</em> until November 1st. :P It was the beginning of July when we found out that the Pens would be coming here. With them being in the Eastern Conference, and us being in the Western, they'll only come here once during the season, if that. Unless we're one of the three Western teams that they play twice next year, they won't be coming here at all next season. So this is a big event for us. :)</div><br /><br /><div>So I decided to "<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Pensify</span></span>" (a new word I created :D) my camera bag that I'll be taking to the game.<br /><br /><div>I found some cute little penguin beads at the store, and decided that I could do some neat things with them. So I got a few, and then headed toward the letter beads. I used one of the penguins in the <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">key chain</span> with the letters. End result:</div><br /><br /><div><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 175px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 275px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" height="515" alt="" src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/Jewelry/crosby-keychain-2.jpg" border="0" /></div><div><em><span style="font-size:78%;">(My favorite player is Sidney Crosby, and he's #87 :D)</span></em></div><br /><br /><div>The things on the side are neat little things I made with some of my home-made beads. (Have you noticed that I have no idea what to call some of these things? ) </div><br /><br /><div><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 229px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 284px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" height="370" alt="" src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/Jewelry/black-gold-keychains.jpg" border="0" /></div><div></div><div>And the other three penguins I made into <span style="color:#000000;">neat little chains:</span><br /><br /></div><div><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 299px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 233px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" height="281" alt="" src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/Jewelry/penguin-keychains-2.jpg" border="0" /></div><br /><div>I also bought some gold hockey player and goalie charms and hung them on the side of the bag, and used a couple as zipper pulls (I guess I didn't take pictures of those, because I can't find any! ). </div><br /><div></div><br /><div><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 214px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 404px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" height="474" alt="" src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/Jewelry/hockey-charms-1.jpg" border="0" /></div><br /><div>My favorite are these cute little guys that I made out of clay.</div><br /><br /><div>I hung them on some leather cord like I did all of the other things and put them on the side of my bag:<br /><br /></div><div><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/Jewelry/penguin-charms-1.jpg" border="0" /></div></div></div></div><br /><p align="center"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/Jewelry/penguin-charms-2.jpg" border="0" /><em>Aren't they cute?? :D</em><br /><br /></p><p>I'll probably make a couple more <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">key chains</span> with player names on them after I visit the bead store again. I only had enough money to buy the stuff for one this time. :)</p><br /><p>Lastly is a thing I made on my bead loom. I plan to make another one after I buy a bigger loom. :P I didn't have enough space to do this very well...so it looks a little stretched. I took a picture of the <a href="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2310/2518158277_cf0b185de3.jpg">Pens' logo</a> and copied it onto graph paper, and then made it out of seed beads on my loom. :)</p><br /><p></p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262057255178839154" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 354px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 238px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8FUqRiK43poH2aUgsHSJmLTQmPDI7oxbP0nJFEtaovpwfcJm0MytwtSkSJHw_ZavnnQ5ZRkSozBTEBrybhswQoTKuoDnf1WPs-MTDY-JOIIOZNFiGb6MLLaARe8P1bnCPIbpYyaidc84/s400/bead-penguin.JPG" border="0" /><br /><p></p></div>Jaimehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04722963198849186552noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1846448937837454619.post-73006228029596156692008-10-13T23:16:00.000-05:002008-10-27T23:47:13.914-05:005 1/2 Chip Cookies<div align="center">Ok, I did something the other day that I've never done before...and I will probably never do again. :P</div><div align="center"></div><div align="center">I gave a friend of mine a coupon for a batch of cookies for his birthday...and from past experience, I knew he'd try to pull something funny with it. For this one, I'm supposed to post six random things about myself...<br /><br />So, here we go....<br /><br />1. I'm getting contacts! <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Yay</span>! On the 20<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">th</span>, to be exact. No more glasses. :D<br /><br />2. I'm <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">extremely</span> cold-natured. I'm known to wear jackets and long sleeves throughout the summer.<br /><br />3. My <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">screen saver</span> on my computer is a really cool <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">slide show</span> of my dearest friend Lizzy's awesome drawings. :D<br /><br />4. I'm addicted to Gatorade. My favourite is a mixture of Orange and Lemon Lime.<br /><br />5. I have more than 10,000 pictures saved on my computer. Seriously. :P<br /><br />6. I found this to be very difficult....apparently I'm not very random. :P<br /><br /><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">Ok</span>, I tag <a href="http://alightonthewater.blogspot.com/">Elf Girl</a>, <a href="http://thesesilentwhispers.blogspot.com/">BC</a>, and <a href="http://erin-artisticexpressions.blogspot.com/">Erin</a>. :DJaimehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04722963198849186552noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1846448937837454619.post-87550180866899599762008-09-15T23:49:00.008-05:002008-10-02T10:07:03.091-05:00Wallpapers<div align="center"><span style="font-family:verdana;">Ok, for those of you, my beloved readers, who haven't noticed it yet...<br />I happen to be a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins NHL hockey team. :D</span></div><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-family:verdana;">This past week, a project was introduced on a blog that I frequent, </span><a href="http://sidcrosby.blogspot.com/2008/09/wallpaper-project-results.html"><span style="font-family:verdana;">The Sidney Crosby Show</span></a><span style="font-family:verdana;"> (Crosby is the Captain of the Penguins). In that game Talbot scored the tying goal only 30 seconds before the game was over and the Red Wings would win the Cup. That sent the game into overtime where their goalie, Marc-Andre Fleury, was amazing. And Sykora after calling his shot in the 2nd overtime, scored the game-winning goal in the 3rd. Unfortunately, they went on to lose Game 6 and did not win the Cup. :(</span></p><p align="center"></p>Jaimehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04722963198849186552noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1846448937837454619.post-64108298306959501752008-09-07T18:44:00.007-05:002008-09-07T19:51:19.657-05:00Of Birthdays and Satellites...<div><div align="center"><span style="font-family:verdana;">Ok...long time, no post. You would think that they'd choose icing for the lettering that matched the icing already on the cake...<br /></span></div><br /><div align="center"><span style="font-family:verdana;"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243432660617591010" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhBV1d-yd9HVJk2m68SPK1Of1H_e-cVyUVzLCO4b60-gW-7hsMeJ9X3-FZ_5_pPAkYjGGRtd73jAoh_5_hr4vl12NlErxT2BXbxOXdrEmonAOY4PJhGL6Itii182_rgd2LKKlyolPnIbA/s200/cake08.jpg" border="0" /> Yes, a red, white & blue cake with neon blue and yellow lettering!<br />Well, at least they spelled my name right. LOL. But we won't dwell on that. It's not a very pleasant subject...</span></div><p align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuFw_Chkzk3mi9tcraGJSULw3LEeP3SZharq_Ar0UZpRtn14kJ43WhjsWRY09csS_GaisfKQ9UvfsjwVZZl_3cQsFyQ-FDOonOrC6HzmQwdAlwjh6FNsmzkrTnsAZWwrL2d7dxKcZGi4k/s1600-h/chain-bracelet-3.JPG"><span style="font-family:verdana;"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243444015979441202" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 254px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 151px" height="160" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuFw_Chkzk3mi9tcraGJSULw3LEeP3SZharq_Ar0UZpRtn14kJ43WhjsWRY09csS_GaisfKQ9UvfsjwVZZl_3cQsFyQ-FDOonOrC6HzmQwdAlwjh6FNsmzkrTnsAZWwrL2d7dxKcZGi4k/s320/chain-bracelet-3.JPG" width="260" border="0" /></span></a><span style="font-family:verdana;">My sister and I have been choosing projects out of my bead magazines to make. We've done two so far, each taking a few days to complete. The first is probably my favourite bracelet that I've made so far. :D It took a long time to link all of the rings together. I'm going to get the supplies that I need to make another one. This time with 2 colours of blue crystals, smaller rings around the edges (but the same size for the centre rings), and rather than alternating the crystal colours as I did in the one pictured, I'll stack the crystals of the same colour, one on top of the other so that they match. I'm not sure if any of you will understand that...but there it is. :P I'll post a picture when it's done...whenever that will be. I'm not sure when I'll get the bead store next, so it may be a while. Or I may just order the stuff online...I don't know yet. :P<br /></span></p><br /><p align="center"><span style="font-family:verdana;">The second project we did was a bracelet using the Russian Snake Stitch (a variation of the daisy</span><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_t4mhr3D5A_c/SMR2bIr7CwI/AAAAAAAAARo/VbInw3I8e08/s1600-h/russian-snake-stitch-blue-2.JPG"><span style="font-family:verdana;"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243446074726353666" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_t4mhr3D5A_c/SMR2bIr7CwI/AAAAAAAAARo/VbInw3I8e08/s200/russian-snake-stitch-blue-2.JPG" border="0" /></span></a><span style="font-family:verdana;"> chain). This took a while because there are three steps that you go through stitching seed beads together, which is very time-consuming. But I really enjoy this type of work, so it was fun. :) I should have taken a picture after each step was completed (I will next time). Really, we could have stopped after any of the steps and ended up with a really neat bracelet. :P</span></p><div align="center"><span style="font-family:verdana;">The highlight of this week, though, came last night. We now have satellite Internet! *Does a happy dance* It's awesome! For those of you who didn't know, we had dial-up (for 10 years!). Living in a rural area, most ways of getting high speed Internet aren't available. But now we finally have it, and it's so nice! :D</span></div><br /><div></div></div>Jaimehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04722963198849186552noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1846448937837454619.post-64821286696394299822008-08-25T22:32:00.006-05:002008-08-26T23:29:23.120-05:00Craft Project!<p></p><p align="center">Ok, I'm just barely getting this posted today (didn't you know that that would be the case? :P)...</p><p align="center">My sister and I made some really neat envelopes using magazine and calendar pages. I got this idea from one that some beads I bought were put into. They're very easy to make. :)</p><p align="center">Personally, I will be using them to put my jewelry into that I sell, rather than using bags.</p><p align="center">The majority of the envelopes are from regular magazine pages, so they are thin. Not something you would want to send through the mail. But some of them are made from thicker pages, like from magazine covers and calendar pages. (There's something you can do with old calendars!) We had a couple of old ones with floral pictures on them that we used.<br /></p><p align="center"><br /></p><div align="center"><a href="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/envelopes-2.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/envelopes-2.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><div align="center"><a href="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/envelopes-3.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/envelopes-3.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><div align="center"><a href="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/envelopes-1.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/envelopes-1.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><p align="center"></p><p align="center">Here's a pattern for making them that I made! :D You can print this up, cut it out, and then just trace around the edge onto whatever paper you want to use...then follow the instructions on the pattern. ;)</p><p align="center"></p><p align="center"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/envelope-pattern.gif" border="0" /> </p><p align="center"><em><span style="font-size:85%;"><a href="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o79/LotR4me/envelope-pattern.gif">Click here for full size.</a></span></em></p><p align="center"><em><span style="font-size:85%;">Don't ask me why you can't click the image this time...I still haven't figured it out myself...</span></em></p><p align="center"> </p><p align="center"></p><p align="center">You can change the pattern to fit the pictures that you want to use. If you've got one where the main part of the picture doesn't end up in the center, just adjust the pattern to fit it. ;) I've done it with a few. Also, we've made smaller ones so that we could use pictures that didn't take up the majority of a page. :)</p><p align="center">If any of you decide to try this, I'd love to see pictures! :D</p><p align="center"></p><em><span style="font-size:85%;"></span></em>Jaimehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04722963198849186552noreply@blogger.com1
